Prescription Drug Plans (PDP)
Medicare prescription drug plans are also called Part D plans. It is a part of medicare that provides outpatient prescription drug coverage. It is only provided to a private insurance companies that have contracts with the government it is never provided by the government like the original medicare is. This Plan also helps lower the cost of your prescription drugs and protect against higher costs in the future.
Anyone who has Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Part B is eligible to enroll in a Medicare Part D drug plan. In addition, an individual must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who resides within one of the 34 designated PDP regions in the United States; anyone who is living abroad or is incarcerated is not eligible.
